PELECING KANGKUNG
Plecing Kangkung, very popular in Lombok as a daily dishes to eat with rice. Plecing kangkung consists of water spinach and served in a cold state and fresh shrimp with chili sauce, tomato, sprouts, nuts, and lime.
AYAM TALIWANG
A tour on Lombok won’t be complete without tasting the local; Taliwang Chicken or in Bahasa Indonesia it calls Ayam Taliwang. This is typical of Lombok’s dish that become favorite among locals and tourists. At first glance, Ayam Taliwang almost look like the common grilled or fried chicken, simply covered by a spicy relish. Only after tasting it, then we can discern the difference. The meat is well done and very soft in texture. Both hot and sweet, it has the aroma of terasi (fermented shrimp paste), which prompt us to savor every mouthful.
SATE IKAN TANJUNG
Sate Ikan Tanjung (Satay Fish) is one of the tasty food in Lombok, originally come from a village called Tanjung, Northern Lombok. Pieces of fresh snapper or tuna mixed with coconut milk, lemongrass, garlic, chilli paper, spices, wrapped onto satay stick and then grilled. Try it on your way back from a day tour from waterfall or Gili Islands. If you want to try it, you can go to Tanjung. There’re also many fish that you can buy at traditional market or directly from fisherman.
